What does the site aim to do?

SDG 3- BY 2030, REDUCE BY ONE THIRD PREMATURE MORTALITY FROM NON - COMMUNICABLE DISEASES THROUGH PREVENTION AND TREATMENT AND PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.

Stress makes people behave in adverse ways.

Stress at the workplace is a growing phenomenon across the globe. Stress has a large impact on employee’s mental and physical health. In more than 20 years of my service with the Government, I have experienced that most peoples are suffering from an ailment of Non-communicable diseases which is prevailing due to stress at the workplace.

Tourism – the only global industry that meets all the UN SDGs but Health (SDG 3) which I consider the most important SDG, that’s why I started working on Tourism & Public Health issues and a pilot project was conducted on an initiative which gels well with the SDG 3, as its objective is to make government employees healthy.

We seek to achieve a healthier life for lower/middle-class Government employees through this initiative as this would open many windows of opportunities for them to take out some time from their limited holidaying schedule and participate in tourism activities. We believe that by targeting the lower/middle-class Government employees – a highly neglected segment so far by travel agents/tour operators, we can create awareness about well-being tourism among middle-class segments.

In a democratic country like India, Government at both levels (Central & State) focuses on schemes which are mainly related to the welfare of common people. Execution of all these schemes is through Government Employees but unfortunately, there is no any such schemes/ plans to take care of the well-being of this segment of people who are not only bothered with work pressure but also facing challenges to local politics, discrimination in the name of caste/religion at the workplace. All these factors affect their lifestyle and increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and other major health problems

As Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) has no initial stage symptoms which can be seen easily so mostly they are being vulnerable to diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension and other heart-related diseases.

If an employee is not feeling good, then it may affect their behavior which might reflect in the implementation of welfare schemes of Government for common people.

So, the purpose of developing this site is to inspire Government Employees to take part in travel-related eudemonic or hedonic experiences because travelling is a good method to release stress. It gets you away from your problems. Just planning a vacation keeps your mind off things that can stress you out. Studies have shown that vacation is very important to have improved performance at work, sleep and a healthy heart.
